Subtitle: Seeking Knowledge in Christ.
God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him. In this is love brought to perfection among us, that we have confidence on the day of judgement because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment, and so one who fears is not yet perfect in love. We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” but hates his brother, he is a liar; for whoever does not love a brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. This is the commandment we have from him; whoever loves God must also love his brother. John 4:16-21.
Commentary:
These words of John give proof that to love a brother or sister is the bedrock for Christian faith. There are millions of Christians who do not follow this commandment. Do they think it’s a weak approach to life? This is the love that God has, and that is confused with earthly love. This love that John defines has many layers to it, so why discard it?
Only Jesus has truly proved that these layers are real. Dying on the cross, he will cry out, Father forgive them they know not what they do. Who else can say that after suffering the cruelest death that lasted for hours. Jesus surely peeled these layers of love to deal with his hardship. This can only be proof that the love that John is talking about has many layers with a success to it. Jesus was resurrected from this cruel death from his applying this heavenly command. This beginning stage of Christianity does not see this.
What makes these Christians think they can issue moral edicts like abortion when they ignore the commandment to love one another? They haven’t peeled one layer of love in their life. They have no moral authority. That’s a Frankenstein definition of Christianity. The numbers should point out there are a few abortions compared to the millions of Christians who break God’s commandment to love one another. Their self-righteous sham has no moral authority whatsoever.
If you ignore the bedrock, you just have a kangaroo court that thinks their moral authority is approved by God. That a bigger fault than abortions, there are millions of Christians who do not follow that commandment: love one another.
